How do I know how much laundry I've sent?
Each week you will get a printout with your weight for that week.

What if I exceed the weight limit of my plan?
There is a $1.09 per lb charge for each pound over your weight limit.

How does pick-up and delivery work?
We will assign a pick-up and delivery day according to where you live (i.e. Hill Dorms picked up on Tuesday and returned on Thursday). We have several convenient pre-scheduled times at each dorm. If you are unavailable for one of the pre-scheduled times, simply call us to make other arrangements.

House and apartment residents simply leave your laundry out by 8:00am on your designated pick-up day and we will be by to pick it up. There is no need for you to even be home. If you are uncomfortable leaving your laundry out, just call and we will schedule a time for pick-up when you are home.

Do I pay for the entire semester up front?
Yes. When you sign up you will be charged for the entire semester according to the plan you have chosen. For those signing up part way through the semester, the fee will be prorated. Any "extras" such as weight overages or dry cleaning will be charged periodically throughout the semester.

Do I have to have my own laundry bag?
No, each semester plan comes with a Busybody's Laundry Bag. For the first pick-up, we will pick your laundry up in whatever bag you may have as long as you are able to tie the bag closed (if you don't have a laundry bag, a garbage bag works fine). Put your name, campus address, and phone number on a piece of paper and place it inside the bag. When we return your laundry the first time we will bring you your new Busybody's Laundry Bag, complete with name tag.

Can I cancel my service?
If you wish to discontinue service at any time please give us a call. Your account will be credited for your Plan amount and accordingly you will be billed $1.50 for each pound used as well as a $10.00 processing fee.

Can I change laundry plans during the semester?
You may switch only during your first three weeks. You must call us to change plans; we will not automatically upgrade or downgrade your chosen plan based on the amount of laundry you send each week.

What happens if I miss my pick-up?
If you miss a scheduled pick-up, give us a call and we will fit you in as soon as we are able. If you miss a week altogether please give us a call so we can double your weight capacity for the following week.

Do I need to separate my clothes?
No, we do this for you. But please separate jumbled clothes-like two shirts taken off together, or shorts with briefs inside-- and also un-ball socks for best results. We do our best to check pockets for miscellaneous items such as pens or chap stick, which can cause damage to clothing and our machines, however it is ultimately your responsibility and Busybody's will not be liable for damage to clothing from such items.

How can I be sure that nothing is missing?
We wash, dry, and fold each students order separately, and use name tags on all washers, driers and folding tables. We also have a barcode system that tracks your order from pick-up through delivery and each step in between. With this system, mix-ups are unlikely!

What if an item requires dry cleaning?
Place the items in a separate smaller bag with a note inside that specifies "dry cleaning". Place the smaller bag inside your laundry bag. There will be an extra charge-usually between $5.00 and $8.50 per garment. Call if you would like a price confirmation. (It typically takes a couple of days longer for your dry cleaning to be returned to you).

What about sweaters and delicate items?
If you have special instructions for a particular piece of clothing, place the item(s) in a separate bag along with a note describing the care required. Place the separate bag inside your laundry bag. We can air dry*, low heat dry, wash on a delicate cycle or wash separately. We do not hand wash. Please alert us when washing an item for the first time, so we can wash it separately to prevent color bleeding. We wash all laundry orders in cold water(separating darks from lights) and dry the whole order together on medium heat unless specific instructions are given to do otherwise. While we may occasionally catch something that requires special care, it is really your responsiblity to let us know. Sorry! with hundreds of orders each week, and large capacity machines that work best when filled, we cannot be regularly pulling a few items out of each order unless requested.

*Note: There is no charge for up to 4 pounds of air dry each week, anything over 4 pounds is billed at $0.75 per pound. Items that have been air dried may be returned to you slightly damp and wrapped separately from the rest of your order.
